Another Munster Winners medal for David Hanrahan

Congratulations to Douglas' David Hanrahan, who won another Munster title last night in Fraher field, Dungarvan. David was in goal for the Cork junior footballers as they beat Waterford to be crowned Munster Junior Football champions for the 5th time in 9 years.

This is to add to the U21 Munster title won earlier this year.

Camogie Senior Championship, Fri. 12th @ Castle Road

Best of luck to the Douglas Senior Camogie team as they take on Cloughduv in their opening round of the County Championship tonight. Throw in is at 7.30om at the Castle Road Camogie grounds. It would be great to see a good crowd come along to cheer the girls on as they embark on another championship campaign.

Family Fortunes Quiz Night

The social committee have organised a great Family Fortunes quiz night in the club on this coming Friday night 12th July at 9.00pm. Different sections of the club have nominated teams to take part. Watch them as they pit their knowledge against each other for the prize of becoming 'Family Fortunes Champions'.

The bragging rights are huge. Who will be crowned Champions? Who will fall at the first hurlde? Come along to find out!!

Proud of our Féile na nGael hurlers

A remarkable weekend unfortunately culminated in disappointment as Douglas were defeated in Sunday afternoons Division 1 Féile na nGael All-Ireland final against Ballyboden St Endas.

All at Douglas GAA are very proud of the performances of our players and mentors. Whilst on the playing field things didn’t go the way everyone wanted and had dreamed of, everyone who travelled for the weekend were part of what was a wonderful experience for Douglas GAA club and particularly all of the players and their families.

This weekend Douglas U14 Féile na nGael squad head to Limerick to represent Douglas & Cork in the All Ireland Féile na nGael competition.

It is indeed a unique occasion as it is the first time that Douglas have performed at this level of the Féile na nGael. The squad have been preparing diligently under the careful guidance of the coaches and mentors since qualifying from Cork. They travel with the best wishes of everyone in Douglas GAA Club behind them.
