Scoil Nioclais Coaching Initiative

Today Douglas GAA visited Scoil Nioclas to announce an extended School coaching initiative.

Trained coaches from within our Senior Hurling and Football panels have made themselves available to provide coaching to the youngsters of Scoil Nioclais. This will happen as part of the sport curriculum within school hours and also as an after school option.

Current players Sean Collins, Dave Curtin and David Hanrahan will begin their coaching sessions in the week following the midterm break and continue until the end of the current school year.

The principle and staff at the school are thrilled to have the support of the coaches to assist in their preparation of school teams and the delivery of skills coaching to all age groups from 7 upwards. Douglas GAA look forward to helping foster an active and healthy lifestyle amongst the pupils and encourage participation in sport as part of that lifestyle.

Many thanks to Barry O’Donoghue, Chairman of Douglas GAA, John Foley, Douglas Underage, Ken St Leger, Chairman of Douglas GAA Street Leagues along with Sean Collins and Dave Curtin for attending the launch at Scoil Nioclas.
