Lehane Motors Street Leagues Finals ; An Taoiseach

On Saturday 11th June we had our annual Lehane Motors Street Leagues Finals day for Hurling & Camogie. This is normally one of the busiest days in the calendar with 500 children aged between 5 and 11 and 1000 adults attending the event.

This year there was an even greater buzz as An Taoiseach Micheál Martin kindly agreed to cut the ribbon on Phase 1 of our Club Development Plan which included a new Astro-Ball wall-games area, refurbishment of our Clubhouse ,a new club shop and resurfacing and lining of our car park.

There was no shortage of photos, fist pumps and questions from the kids to Micheal and one of thee highlights was An Taoiseach presenting medals to our Under 5 and 6 Boys and Girls.

The club also announced Phase 2 of the Club Plan which is floodlights on pitch 2 later this year and Phase 3 which is a third full size pitch including a full size 4G Astro planned for 2023.

THANK YOU: We wish to thank all our members who generously contributed to  the WinaGaff fundraiser and Membership Levy, without which the Phase 1 dream wouldn’t have been a reality.

Tax Back Donation Scheme

A Tax Back Donation Scheme was also launched which would see revenue give back €66 to the club for every €100 donated by a top rate PAYE tax payer.

This initiative will be used to fund Phase 2 floodlights together with the monies gratefully received through the Sports Capital Grant.
