5. Lehane Motors Street Leagues Hurling & Camogie Finals Day 2024

Fabulous day at the Lehane Motors Street Leagues Hurling & Camogie finals on Saturday, with fun for all the family. A full day of Camogie and Hurling matches for all ages, with the skills on display the future is bright for the club!

The Finals day is always a great celebration of sport and community at the club, with huge crowds buzzing all day. There was something for everyone, with yoga, balloon tying, face painting, popup shops, food stalls, and the baristas at the newly launched “The Dougout” coffee dock didn’t have a moment’s rest. As always the pipe band parade through the village was a highlight enjoyed by all the players.

Big thank you to everyone involved, including all the organisers, mentors, players, parents, gardaí, and to our Street Leagues sponsors Lehane Motors.

6. Healthy Club

As part of Douglas GAA Healthy Club Initiative, 2e ran a family Yoga session with Hazel from “The Yoga Tree Community” on Lehane Motors Street League finals day, which was a great success! The Healthy Club Committee has organised a First Aid Course to take place on 15th June covering topics such as first aid with a particular emphasis on sports related injuries, CPR, overview of defibrillator, concussion handling with particular emphasis on GAA guidelines. 10 mentors & 6 Mums on Duty across all age groups in the club have signed up.
